Valla Beach - Theft of picnic table with bench seating (Friday August 11th 2023)

Carole Andersen (Sec. of VBCA), was informed by Council on the afternoon of Friday 11th August 2023, that ‘someone’ decided to steal the most recent community infrastructure built at Valla Beach, in the picnic area on the side of the road approaching the carpark and Amenities Block. The table was made from old railway sleepers and was actually bolted to the concrete base. Even the concrete base stirrups were stolen. 

We would like our community members to be aware of this theft and for everyone to be very aware of what is going on around them. Please make a report to Council and/or the Police if you see anything suspicious or have any information regarding the whereabouts of the table (or see it online for sale).

The VBCA tries very hard to work in conjunction with Council and to provide facilities like this for the benefit of all in the community, and we are very disappointed with this latest event.
